COTHRAN SMITH HARRIS (1954-)

Born in Wilmington NC, he graduated from Hoggard HS in 1972, then graduated from NC State in 1976 in the last class recruited by Henry Kamphoefner.  He worked construction for two years, then got a masters from Syracuse in 1980.  He worked for Paul McArthur in Fayetteville NC; Synthesis in Wrightsville Beach NC; Henry Johnston; Boney Architects in Wilmington NC; Ballard McKim Sawyer in Wilmington NC, RS&H in Greensboro NC.  He started his own firm in 1989 which continues today. 

2024 - aka Beehive, Onslow County NC. Designed by Cothran Harris Architecture, built by the owner, with structural engineering by Robert Warr Frameworks. Interiors by Angela Crittenden of Teal Interior Design and roof design by Kate Ancaya of Living Roofs. Nominated for the 2025 George Matsumoto Prize.
