Wilkins was born in Mount Sidney VA where he discovered architecture while building models for an architectural illustrator. He graduated from Fort Defiance HS in 2004 and from the Virginia Tech in 2009. He interned with HKS in Washington DC and in 2010 moved to Durham NC to work for Duda Paine Architects. He worked as a designer for Riverbank Construction in 2017, then started his own firm in 2022.
