Hawthorne was born in 1989. He graduated from Millbrook HS in Raleigh NC in 2008 and NC State with a Media degree in 2012. Working in advertising, as an animator, then a film director, he and wife Anna also built up a luxury wedding photography business. In 2017, they began a Modernist house project in San Diego, completed in 2018. On vacation to Lake Gaston in North Carolina, they bought heavily wooded lot and created The Wilde Retreat, named after Oscar Wilde's because of their love for the quote "To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” More houses are expected.
