Architecture You Love and Fight For

The Cherry/Gordon House, saved from demolition in 2014 - but the fight still goes on in 2015 at the NC Court of Appeals. Defending the house has cost upwards of $50,000 and we need your help to support Louis Cherry and Marsha Gordon.

The NCMH Legal Defense Fund (LDF) provides technical assistance, funding for legal representation, and other support services to endangered Modernist houses in North Carolina as determined by NCMH. From preserving historically significant Modernist houses to standing for due process for new Modernist houses under threat, the LDF actively advocates for North Carolina's great legacy of Modernist residential architecture.

The founding Host Committee of the NCMH LDF included:

Pursuing legal channels is a critical but expensive investment in preserving the architecture you love. Please consider the future of North Carolina's Modernist design heritage when deciding on a gift.

If giving by check, please mail to NCMH, 5409 Pelham Road, Durham NC 27713 and mark LDF on the memo. Contributions to the LDF are generally tax-deductible - please consult your tax professional. North Carolina Modernist Houses (NCMH) is the website for Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc, a North Carolina 501C3 nonprofit.
