Modernist Houses Tour 800 Block of Mangum Street, Durham (park on Glendale Avenue, map below) Saturday, June 22, 1045am to 2pm Please note the tour has been shortened from the original 10-4. Have a starry, starry day touring the Pleaides, a new project by one of Raleigh's hottest Modernist design firms, RACo, led by Robby Johnston and Craig Kerins. ![]() There are eight cool houses with a mini park right in the development's backyard. You'll get the cook's tour of four of them with a guide from RACo taking small groups every 45 minutes thoughout the day! Like what you see? Tickets
Advance discount tickets are sold out. However, you can buy tickets at the door 1130a, to 1pm for $15 per person. Tours are every 30-45 minutes; there may be a short wait. Proceeds benefit the documentation, preservation, and promotion programs of NCModernist! Map/Directions ![]() Take NC 147 (Durham Freeway) and exit on North Roxboro. Turn left on East Geer, which quickly becomes West Geer. Turn left on Glendale and drive to the end of the road. Free public parking is
available on Mangum Street, or in the gravel or paved
lots directly across the the street at 812 & 814 North
Mangum. The Fine Print You're welcome to take photos inside and outside the houses. To preserve the floors, please take off your shoes before entering the houses. Tickets are not mailed; your name will be on a list at registration. The tour runs rain or shine. Once payment is made, there are no refunds for any reason except for tour cancellation. However, you can transfer tickets to others, just have them ask for tickets in your name at registration. Architects can get self-reported CEU hours if arranged in advance with the AIA.
